About Us

Drew Waterbury has been in the financial services industry since 1984. He began working for New York Stock Exchange Member firm Quick & Reilly, Inc., while in high school. After short detours to the Chicago Board of Options and to earn a degree at Hampden-Sydney College, he returned to Quick & Reilly. In 1987, he moved to Charlotte to manage the local Q&R office. In 2001, he joined Scott & Stringfellow, leaving to create Ocean Advisors as a fee only financial planning firm in 2006.
Drew has held the following NASD licenses: Series 4, 7, 8, 31, 63, 65. These licenses are no longer current.
He has completed various professional courses related to the financial services industry (Accredited Asset Management Specialist, Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor, Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, Certified College Planning Specialist) and has held the Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP) since 1998.
